About left margin
Every finished book has a version no one else gets to read.
By the time a novel appears on a bookshelf, so much of its journey has already happened behind the scenes.
That's the part left margin wants to explore.
Through conversations with authors, left margin explores the creative process from the first spark of an idea to the final draft. We talk about the scenes that changed, the ideas that evolved, the routines that keep writers going, and the small decisions that shape a finished book.
Whether you're a lifelong reader, an aspiring writer, or simply curious about how stories are made, left margin offers a closer look at the creative process behind the books we love.
About the founder
left margin was created by Eva, a high school student and aspiring fiction writer. As a reader, she has always been interested not only in the books she loves, but in everything that happens before they reach readers: the early drafts, the ideas that change along the way, and the choices authors make before a story becomes the one we eventually read.
She created left margin to learn from authors and give readers a closer look at the creativity, challenges, and decisions behind the stories we love.
